I think some women are intimidated by boudoir photography because of a few misconceptions out there. That they have to be overly provacative. That you can only do them if you're stick thin and "sexy." That they're only for men to look at.
While there is nothing wrong with any of those three things - they're not the ONLY ways to do boudoir.
I think some women are also intimidated or discouraged to try boudoir photography because of their own level of self-confidence or body acceptance. There is fear, shame, guilt, anxiety.
But given the right encouragement, there can be EMPOWERMENT, CONFIDENCE, BRAVERY, ACCEPTANCE, and BEAUTY.
I know boudoir is not for everyone, and that's OKAY - but I want to put this out there for any woman who has thought about trying boudoir for any reason at all - DO IT. Even if for no one else but yourself.
I am so excited to share a few STUNNING images from Kelsie's boudoir session this weekend. Kelsie is getting married next month, and she is gifting these gorgeous pictures to her fiance as a wedding gift. Like many others, Kelsie was super nervous to do this. She was self-conscious about her body and afraid she wouldn't look good.
Let me be the first to SHOUT to the world that she couldn't have been more wrong. Kelsie did an amazing job and she looks absolutely beautiful.
While the main purpose of her session is a gift for her fiance - we talked and agreed it was also for HER. Kelsie has been on an inspiring weight loss journey prior to her wedding, and has worked her butt off (literally), losing over 100 pounds already! (you go girl)
If anyone deserves to feel beautiful and confident and show off, it's this girl.
The rest of Kelsie's saucy images are for Dylan's eyes only, but I couldn't let this session pass by without sharing a tiny peek of it with the world, and hopefully share a bit of the confidence and empowerment that I witnessed.
Can't wait to photograph this girl in her wedding dress in a few weeks.
